the epitome of quirkiness

This has the potential to be somewhat of a long post. Go get you a little happy snack. July 27, 2008

Hello. I hope you’re all doing swell. A little update on life: I mentioned last weekend that I was going to a wedding. It was beautiful. You know, sunrise on the beach, soft guitar music combined with the sounds of the ocean, exquisite beaded dress, charmingly quirky couple who were made for each other, reception at a winery with a buffet line featuring personalized omelets. Omelets! Undoubtedly the best wedding I’ve ever been to.

In other news, I moved! Five days ago. It was fun while it lasted, but we’d had enough of Ghettoville and now Rachael Roomie and I are living in a place that is way nicer and actually costs less than our last one. We now have A. a dishwasher B. laundry facilities C. ventilation in our bathroom! One thing we do not have, however, is internet access. Thus, it is rather challenging for one to blog.

The other day I babysat The Kids Down The Street. They are a brother and sister ages 3 and 5 and we had an exponentially fun time together building train tracks, watching good ol’ Barney and some Caillou, singing the months of the year song, reading One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish, blowing bubbles, playing soccer, and eating Batman and Barbie gummies. I even got a free manicure and pedicure from the five-year-old who loves pink. I also made some new friends: Chippy puppy, the cleverest little potty-trained stuffed dog you ever did see; Nershal, Chippy’s brother; and Bobo and Momo, the bears. Near the end of the afternoon, we all played restaurant. The kids were the servers and cooks. I ordered a delicious clam chowder (special ingredient: Lincoln logs). Bobo and Momo just had to have the chicken noodle soup and Nershal threatened to leave the restaurant if he didn’t get his beef stroganoff. But Chippy, that picky little puppy, barely touched his lettuce sandwich and sprite.

Honestly, the way that dog eats I don’t see how he isn’t a pile of skin and bones.
